Point & Click Civilization

4.2 from 2549 reviews

Point-and-click adventure games are a very distinctive genre in which players control their characters through a standard point-and-click interface. Typically, all the player needs is a computer mouse, though additional controls are sometimes supported. In all the best point-and-click games, players have to click on the screen in order to move their characters around, interact with various elements of the world (including NPCs), and examine objects in the game. Point-and-click games often come down to collecting multiple items in the inventory and figuring the right way and time to use them. In order to do that, players have to use clues from the visual elements of the game (e.g. descriptions of certain items, dialogue lines from NPCs, etc.). The most well known point-and-click adventure franchises are Leisure Suit Larry, Gabriel Knight, King’s Quest, Broken Sword, Runaway, Nancy Drew, Sam & Max, Quest for Glory. In Games Republic we have only the best point-and-click games for a PC gamer! Check them out and have fun solving puzzles.
Sid Meier’s Civilization (also known as Civ) is a series consisting of several turn-based strategy video games. Sid Meier developed the first game in the series in 1991 (and oversaw most of the sequels) Because of that, his name is included in the formal title of most Civ games. There have since been six main installments in the series, as well as a number of expansion packs, spin-off games, and even board games. The series is considered a prime example of the “4X” genre, in which players can achieve victory through four main routes. These routes are eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate, respectively. All of the Civilization games share similar gameplay focused on building a civilization - from prehistoric times to the near future (and sometimes even beyond that point). Civilization uses historical aspects from the development of mankind. On each turn, players can oversee their government and choose which technological, cultural, and civil routes their civilization should focus on. Other important aspects of the gameplay are diplomacy and war. It should be noted that Civilization is one of the most successful strategy franchises with over 40 million units sold worldwide. One of the best turn-based strategy games of all time. Advance your civilization, build your empire and achieve the decisive victory over your opponents!
