Racing games (also known as racing simulators or racing sims) are video games that attempt to accurately simulate auto racing. Various real-world variables (e.g. fuel usage, damage, tire wear, grip, and other) are also implemented into the game. To be competitive in a racing sim, players must understand all aspects of car handling that make real-world racing so difficult. Some racing video games are completely devoid of many real-world aspects and focus solely on the speed and adrenaline. These games are called driving games.
Racing games are made for players who enjoy challenging gameplay. Top franchises like Need For Speed, Colin McRae Rally, NASCAR Racing, Gran Turismo and F1 Racing Simulator are renown for their large fanbase and a great attachment to details.

The first installment in the series was released in August 2007 for multiple platforms. It was a huge hit and quickly spun into the other media.
All games in the series (BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite) are set in various dystopian cities/communities and the games’ protagonist has to fight against all odds to survive. BioShock includes elements of aforementioned FPS, survival horrors, and even role-playing games, giving the player different approaches in engaging enemies and various obstacles.
The BioShock games were often praised for their disturbing, morality-based storylines, immersive environments, and unique settings, and are all considered to be some of the greatest video games of all time. They are also a statement that video games can be a form of art.
