Who doesn’t know what a PC is? Personal Computers are one of the most defining features of our time. Machines that are great for work, for fun and for studying. But what PC really is? The Wiki says it’s a “multi-purpose electronic computer whose size, capabilities and price make it feasible for individual use”. But it gets better: “Personal Computers are intended to be operated directly by an end-user, rather than by a computer expert or technician”. Computers were originally invented to “compute” and solve complex mathematical problems. Today, everything is different and their original purpose is actually the least important one. Instead, they are used for gathering data (internet), entertainment (video games, movies, music, etc) and work. Since the early 1990s, Microsoft operating systems and Intel hardware have dominated the PC market. There are alternatives to Microsoft Windows operating system but they still occupy a minority share of the industry. These include Apple's iOS and free open-source operating systems (e.g. Linux and Chrome OS).Sports video games are designed to simulate the real-world sports. Most modern sports have their video game counterparts, including team sports, combat sports, and motorsports and even extreme sports. Games like Madden NFL series focus on actually playing the sport, whilst others focus on strategy and sport management (e.g. Championship Manager). Some top games (like the FIFA franchise) can even emphasize both aspects. Sports game genre has been very popular throughout the history of video games. The reason behind this is a high competitiveness just like with real-world sports. Best sports games are physically and tactically challenging, and they’re often testing player's accuracy, precision, and reaction time. Most sports games try to model the athletic characteristics required by that sport, e.g. strength, speed, stamina, accuracy, etc. Just like their respective sports, these video games take place in a pre-defined stadium, track or arena. Games Republic is a place where every PC gamer can find the perfect game. Only the best sports video games. Only the best prices. With the advancement of the internet, video games started to evolve as well. One of the major changes was an introduction to the Multiplayer mode. In Multiplayer, more than one person can play in the same game environment at the same time. Before the internet era, video games were mostly Single Player activities, putting the player against preset challenges and AI-controlled opponents (which lacked the flexibility and unpredictability of human mind). Multiplayer games allow players to interact with each other in partnership, rivalry or competition, giving them a level of social communication absent in Single Player titles. In Multiplayer games, players may compete against two (or more) human contestants, work cooperatively with a human partner to achieve a common goal, and even supervise other players' activity. Multiplayer games typically require players to share the resources of a single game system or use networking technology to play together over a greater distance. A video game franchise commonly associated with multiplayer is Counter-Strike. Massively Multiplayer Online games (also called MMOs) are a variation of multiplayer games in which a very large number of players can interact with one another within a virtual world. The best example of an MMO game is World of Warcraft.Hide
